Congrats to Tyler Triolo for Winning Player of the Week Honors!


CLEVELAND, Ohio - Junior Tyler Triolo earned North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) Player of the Week honors on Monday morning, as the Gator third year recently completed an unblemished, 4-0 weekend for the Blue and Gold that resulted in a pair of Allegheny sweeps.

Triolo posted a strong week in top-flight singles play, scoring a 6-2, 7-5 triumph on Saturday against Wittenberg before earning his second win against Ohio Wesleyan on Sunday. So far this spring, Triolo has posted a 6-2 record in singles, and is currently on a three-match winning streak at the top-flight position.

In doubles, Triolo teamed with fellow junior Thomas Manning for a pair of wins at No. 1 doubles. Winners of seven consecutive doubles decisions, the top-flight pairing of Triolo and Manning picked up an 8-3 win against Wittenberg on Sunday before edging the No. 1 team from Ohio Wesleyan, 9-7, on Sunday. Triolo is 7-1 since forming the top-flight team with Manning.

Allegheny will next play on April 7th at Robertson Complex against Daemen before away matches against Grove City (April 9th), Denison (April 11th) and Kenyon (April 12th).

Come to the Wise Center Blue Courts and support the men’s tennis team at 10 a.m. followed by the women’s team v. Wittenberg this Saturday. There will be free pizza and pop while supplies last: the pizza will be available around 12:30 p.m.

Congrats to Sun Mo Koo for Receiving Player of the Week Honors!



CLEVELAND, Ohio – Allegheny junior Sun Mo Koo earned North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) Player of the Week honors on Monday, providing a fitting cap to the week for the Gator women's tennis team, who finished their annual spring training trip unbeaten in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.

Koo had a stellar week for the Gators, going 5-0 at top-flight singles to help the Gators to their second consecutive sweep during their spring training trip in South Carolina. Koo dominated top-flight singles play, winning her final three matches 6-1, 6-0 against Messiah, 6-2, 6-1 against St. Norbert and 6-2, 6-2 against Macalester, additionally joining classmate Sloane Prince for a 4-1 record in top-flight doubles.

Allegheny will next battle Wittenberg in the David V. Wise Center on Saturday, March 28th before taking on Ohio Wesleyan on Sunday, March 29th.

Congrats to Our Own Sam Stephenson for Receiving Multiple Journalism Awards!


The Campus won two first-place awards and three honorable mentions in the four-year college category from the Pennsylvania Newspaper Association. Sam Stephenson ’15, co-editor-in-chief of The Campus, and photo editor Meghan Hayman ’16 won a first-place Student Keystone Press Award in the category of general news. The staff of The Campus also won a first-place award for layout and design on “The Story Next Door,” a special edition of The Campus that published student work from a conference that explored community journalism in action. Honorable mentions were awarded to Amasa Smith ’17, in the category of feature photos; Meghan Hayman, in the category of news photos; and Elliott Bartels ’15, Sam Stephenson and Amanda Spadaro ’15, for The Campus’s website. Cheryl Hatch, visiting assistant professor of journalism in the public interest, serves as faculty adviser to The Campus.

Allegheny Tennis Players Among the Many Student Athletes Who Participated in the Athletes Helping Athletes Event
