Apr 21, 2009MEADVILLE, Pa. - The Allegheny women's tennis team closed the regular season with a 7-2 win over Case Western Reserve on Tuesday at the Wise Center. The Gators won three singles matches and swept pairs competition.
Allegheny's Sara Longo (pictured) defeated Cheyenne Chambers, 6-1, 6-3, at second singles while teammate Janna Dickerson earned a win at fourth singles over Emily Hoffman, 6-0, 6-1. Also, Deb Landau handled Svetlana Villano at fifth singles, 6-0, 6-1.
Longo and Lauren Kristofco teamed at first doubles to beat Chambers and Marta Warway, 8-5. At second doubles, Dickerson and Elyse Schmitt bested Hoffman and Jenn Clever, 8-1.
Allegheny claimed two points by default at sixth singles and third doubles.
