Seniors' Matt Chiricosta and Jackie Conrad were recognized before Saturday's matchThe Gators may have had a tough time against the powerhouses from Kenyon and Denison this weekend, but there were some highlights to be proud of. On Saturday the Gator tennis program recognized our seniors, Matt Chiricosta and Jackie Conrad (pictured above), for their significant contributions to our program over the last four years. Jackie will be getting her Master's in Political Science at Lehigh University while Matt will be attending law school at the Cleveland-Marshall College of Law.
It was also great to see our men's #3 doubles team of Zack Kerosky and Evan Gordon upset Kenyon by a score of 8-4. In the women's match against Kenyon we lost three singles matches that all went into a third set. Deb Landau posted an impressive win at #6 singles by a score of 6-3, 7-6 (7-2). The most thrilling match of the weekend came at #3 doubles in the women's match against Kenyon. Margaret Hodgkiss-Lilly and Deb Landau were down 7-2 and managed to rally off seven straight games to win the match 9-7. It was one of the most impressive comebacks I have ever seen!
The ladies are back in action this Tuesday at 4:30 against Case Western and both teams wrap up the year this weekend at the NCAC tournament hosted by Kenyon.
