Most Academic Awards in Gator Tennis History!
The tennis team had a banner year for academic awards. In addition to Pat Cole winning the COSIDA All District Award, nine players were honored with the ITA Scholar Athlete Award--which requires at least a 3.5 GPA for the year. This is the largest number we have ever had win this award. Both teams also won the ITA All Academic Team Award (team avg. GPA above a 3.2 for the year). This is now the third year in a row that the men have won the Team Award and it is the 4th time in the past 8 years for the women. Both teams will be celebrating this fall with a team outing. The ITA doesn't officially announce the awards until later in the summer so check our website in July/August for the official press release. The ITA Scholar Athlete Award winners are: Pat Cole, Alex Hurtuk, Andrea Brush, Laura Steele, Frank Mosconi, Haley Meekhof, Tyler Triolo, Michaela Thompson, and Abby Lange. Congratulations to all our players for their tremendous year in the classroom!

Cole Named CoSIDA/Capital One Academic All-District
Consisting of student-athletes spanning all over Pennsylvania and several sports, including hockey, lacrosse, rowing, bowling, swimming & diving, wrestling, golf, fencing and rifle, Cole was one of six North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) designees from four NCAC member institutions and the lone Allegheny representative on the billing.
A Livonia, Michigan native, Cole graduated last weekend as the most decorated student-athlete in the history of the Allegheny tennis program, leaving Meadville with program records for single season singles (26; 2013-14), doubles (25; 2013-14) and combined (51; 2013-14) victories, along with career marks for singles (83), doubles (78) and combined (161) wins.
The 2013-14 selection for Allegheny's NCAC Male Scholar Athlete of the Year award, Cole is a three-time Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-Academic Team selection and the 2012-13 recipient of the ITA Arthur Ashe Jr. Central Region Award.
Cole will now be entered into the ballot for CoSIDA/Capital One Academic All-American, looking to become the second Allegheny student-athlete this academic year and the third over the last calendar year to earn the honor, joining Mike Kastelic '13 of the Allegheny baseball team and Brad Burkley '14 of the football squad.

Congrats to Our Gator Women for their All-Conference Honors!!
CLEVELAND, Ohio – Two members of the Allegheny women's tennis team were named to the 2014 All-North Coast Athletic Conference team as announced by the conference office on Friday afternoon. Sophomore Sun Mo Koo earned her first All-NCAC distinction, leading the Gators with a spot on the second team singles list, while sophomore Andrea Brush, who also appeared on the All-NCAC team for the first time, earned honorable mention singles plaudits.
Koo makes her debut on the second team list after posting a 12-10 record in singles on the year. Playing in the first singles position for the Gators during the entirety of the spring season, Koo and had tremendous success during the Gators trip to Hilton Head Island, South Carolina where she went picked up an undefeated, 3-0 mark on the trip. Koo opened up the season with four consecutive wins, including a win over Kenyon in the first round of the 2013 Oberlin Invitational, opening the campaign with a pair of victories in the Nancy J. Heath Tournament, helping the Gators to their first tournament title since the 2007 campaign.
Brush also makes her debut on the All-NCAC list after spending time at the second and third singles position during her sophomore campaign. Brush went 14-7 on the year and 7-6 in the second singles position. The sophomore saw similar success to Koo in South Carolina, as Brush went an unprecedented 6-0 between singles and doubles bouts, earning NCAC Player of the Week honors on Mar. 24, 2014. Brush opened her season with six straight wins, including an unblemished, 3-0 mark at the Oberlin Invitational to compliment a 6-7 (3-7), 7-5, 10-4 win over Division II Edinboro at the Heath Invitational.
Finishing the 2013-14 campaign with a 12-8 overall record, the Gators used the season-opening Heath Invitational Championship to end the fall with a 4-1 record. After sweeping their way through the South Carolina Spring Break trip, the Gators finished the season in fifth, upending Wittenberg, 5-0, in their second round NCAC Tournament matchup on Apr. 26.

Congrats to Our Gator Men for their All-Conference Honors!!
COLUMBUS, Ohio – Four members of the Allegheny tennis program were named to the 2014 All-North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) Team, announced by the conference office on Thursday, May 1. Senior Patrick Cole earned first team singles honors, adding a first team doubles notation with sophomore partnerTyler Triolo, who added an honorable mention singles award. Sophomore Thomas Manning was named to the All-NCAC Honorable Mention listing as head coach Jared Luteran was named the NCAC Men's Tennis Coach of the Year in a vote conducted by the NCAC coaching contingent.
Cole led the Gators with his unprecedented fourth All-NCAC First Team singles selection, becoming the first four-time first team selection since Denison's Lee Hays accomplished the feat from 1996-99. Cole ends his illustrious four-year career for the Gators as the most decorated singles player in program history, earning Allegheny men's tennis marks for career singles victories (83) and most wins in a single season (26) to add to his fourth All-NCAC First Team selection. This season, Cole finished the season 26-6 in singles matches, including an 18-4 mark in top-flight matches. In addition, Cole went 8-2 in tournament bouts, winning nine consecutive matches from Mar. 16 to Apr. 12, his best streak of the season.

Cole earned his second All-NCAC Doubles plaudit while Triolo lands on the doubles listing for the first time in his career for the Blue and Gold. The pairing earned a No. 10 ranking in the pre-season Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Division III Central Region Poll,

Manning finished the season 21-7 as a staple for the Gators at No. 3 singles, ending his sophomore campaign 9-3 at third-flight. Winning both of his second-flight matches, ended the season on a 10-match winning streak, started by a 4-6, 6-1, 10-8, comeback win over Wittenberg on Apr. 4.
