Consisting of student-athletes spanning all over Pennsylvania and several sports, including hockey, lacrosse, rowing, bowling, swimming & diving, wrestling, golf, fencing and rifle, Cole was one of six North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) designees from four NCAC member institutions and the lone Allegheny representative on the billing.
A Livonia, Michigan native, Cole graduated last weekend as the most decorated student-athlete in the history of the Allegheny tennis program, leaving Meadville with program records for single season singles (26; 2013-14), doubles (25; 2013-14) and combined (51; 2013-14) victories, along with career marks for singles (83), doubles (78) and combined (161) wins.
The 2013-14 selection for Allegheny's NCAC Male Scholar Athlete of the Year award, Cole is a three-time Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-Academic Team selection and the 2012-13 recipient of the ITA Arthur Ashe Jr. Central Region Award.
Cole will now be entered into the ballot for CoSIDA/Capital One Academic All-American, looking to become the second Allegheny student-athlete this academic year and the third over the last calendar year to earn the honor, joining Mike Kastelic '13 of the Allegheny baseball team and Brad Burkley '14 of the football squad.
