More Gator Tennis Academic Awards!

Congrats to our ITA Scholar Athlete award winners. Your GPA must be above a 3.5 for the year. This is officially announced on the ITA site in July. This year's ITA Scholar Athletes are: Andrea Brush, Abby Lange, Michaela Thompson, Dan Conroy, Samarth Gopal, Alex Hurtuk, Sam Stephenson, and Tyler Triolo.

We also have some players who will be named to the NCAC Honor Roll. To be honored, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore on an active roster in a sport sponsored by the conference and hold a cumulative grade-point-average of 3.50 or higher. This award will be officially announced on the NCAC site in June. This year's NCAC honor roll winners are: Andrea Brush, Abby Lange, Michaela Thompson, Abbey Turner, and Alex Hurtuk.

Congrats to our players for not only excelling on the courts, but also for their incredible academic success!

Congrats to Sam Stephenson for Another Journalism Award!


Congrats to Sam for winning the first-place Mark of Excellence Award from the Society of Professional Journalists in Region 1. This region includes Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Vermont. Sam, the co-editor-in-chief of The Campus, and photo editor Meghan Hayman ’16 won the award in the category of breaking news. Mark of Excellence Awards honor the best of collegiate journalism from a calendar year. First-place winners move on to the national competition among category winners from the 12 regions of the Society of Professional Journalists. Visiting Professor of Journalism in the Public Interest Cheryl Hatch serves as faculty advisor to The Campus. Earlier in the year, Sam won a first-place Student Keystone Press Award in the category of general news.
