Gators Roll in Victory Over Wooster

MEADVILLE, Pa. – The Allegheny men's tennis squad hosted the Fighting Scots of Wooster on Saturday afternoon. A sweep of the doubles competitions boosted the Gators, as they would dispose of the Fighting Scots 6-3 for their second conference victory of the season.

All three doubles pairing for Allegheny had no trouble cruising to victories, as the Gators would enter singles play with a 3-0 advantage.

Patrick Cole continued his domination of the number one singles slot, defeating Landon Moore 6-1, 6-0. Wooster answered by taking the number two and three singles matches; however, Sam Stepenson and Frank Mosconi came through with victories in number four and five singles respectively to lock it up for the Gators.

The win improved Allegheny to 7-6 overall on the season as they sit tied atop the NCAC East standings with Oberlin. The Gators will be off until Friday, April 13 when they will travel to Greenville, Pa. to take on the Tomcats of Thiel College. The match is scheduled for a 4:00 pm start.
