AC men's tennis stretches win streak to five

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. - The Allegheny men's tennis team won its fifth consecutive dual match and its second on Spring Break as it defeated Nebraska Wesleyan, 6-3.

Matt Chiricosta, Zach Kerosky, Ben Hurtuk (pictured) and Eric Roginek claimed singles wins for the Gators. Allegheny also won two of three doubles matches.

Chiricosta won the first singles match over Jamie Holmes, 6-4, 6-3, and Kerosky was a winner over Diasuke Naito, 6-3, 6-4, at fourth singles. Also for Allegheny, Hurtuk defeated Mike Larsen, 4-6, 6-4, 10-2, in fifth singles, while Roginek handled Scott Ronshaugen at sixth singles, 6-0, 6-1.

In doubles competition, Chiricosta and Hurtuk won their first-tier match over Eric Holmes and Jamie Holmes, 8-2. Kerosky and Roginek teamed to win at third doubles against Larsen and Ronshaugen, 8-3.

The Gator men (5-4) will continue play at Hilton Head Island on Tuesday. They will take on Nazareth at 8 a.m.
